Shitty first drafts by Anne Lamott was very interesting as well as relatable. I could really relate to her, and her writing calmed me a little when it comes to writing. When i usually start writing; I always want it to sound really good and when it doesn't come out the way I would like it can get frustrating but no ones work comes out perfectly the first time. Like the author stated very eloquently, " Very few writers really know what they are doing until they've done it. Nor do they go about their business feeling dewy and thrilled. They do not type a few stiff warm-up sentences and then find themselves bounding along like huskies across the snow". I really liked how she explained it and use an analogy. Writing a good piece takes a while for it to evolve into something truly great. You have to trust the process and let it work itself in a way. The author used humour in the fourth paragraph which made it a little more enjoyable but also got her message across. Writing is not supposed to be a piece of cake, where it is just magically baked. You need to add all the ingredients and it slowly starts looking like cake mix and then it goes into the oven and after all of thats its hopefully a good cake. Just like writing a book, essay , article it all takes much time and work and good effort and in the end it should come out well!
